Honey Eater

THE LONE HONEY EATER

FLITS FROM ONE BRILLIANT RED FLOWER

TO THE NEXT

HIS SOURCE OF HONEY IS

ENDLESS WITH NO ONE ELSE

TO SHARE IT

SUDDENLY HE IS STILL

ALL THE JOYS OF

LIFE SEEM TO LEAVE

HIS FRAGILE FEATHERED FRAME

AND AS I GLANCE, I SEE

HE IS STILLED BY THE

SIGHT OF A LARGE GREY

CAT PROWLING ON THE

WALL BELOW

THE BIRD FLY’S UP OUT

OF HARMS WAY

ONLY TO RETURN

WHEN THE PREDATOR

HAS BEEN DETERRED

BY THE DISAPPEARANCE OF

HIS QUARRY
