Spies and things!
This blog stuff is harder than it reads, not in the writing sense, but actually having time to put fingers to keyboard. It has been a big week at the office aligned with the fact that I have been off sick for the best part of two days. Though I worked from home it still stacks up. Having more time to listen to the news and current affairs from the sick bed has led me to think that politicians think that we are as stupid as they are and that the general population is easily outraged.
Spying has been a daily occurrence since the inception of mankind, have we forgotten the evil snake spying on Adam and Eve before tempting them down the path of deception and evil. How has any leader known what’s been going on over the other side, the spy in the ranks of course? Spy stories are so popular they turn them into stage plays and movies, for instance the Petrov Affair 1954 and the Profumo Affair 1963, both huge scandals. Both had an air of romance and mystery like good stories should, though we will be hard pressed to find any of either in the “Indo affair” as I heard it call this morning. Just egos spying on egos! With no one knowing who actually started the commotion, like kids in the playground taking their ball and going home. With great indignation they are withdrawing their ambassadors and any alliance there may have been around boat refugees. Hence we can expect more deaths on the open seas while they cope with their hurt feelings and petulant pay backs. As if it isn’t already ludicrous enough ordinary Indonesians are burning Aussie flags and protesting. Maybe we should all start holidaying in some other poor country that would be grateful for the millions of dollars spent each year by ordinary Aussies, who aren’t as stupid as governments would like us to be.
